Many congratulations to our two tubbies - Watson and Robson - they are our most consistent sporters - they always go out in the first round. British players are rubbish but they always manage to make a good living.

Joanna Griggs described Lleyton Hewitt as being "bundled out" of the Open by Djokovic. Was she even watching?? Hewitt played like a gladiator and as an Australian, I've never been more proud of him. Choose your words more carefully Ms Griggs and don't reduce a magnificent performance to such a derogatory description.

do you guys think roger will ever recapture the world nunber 1 spot?

(3)
(7)

No I don't....I also think he could show a touch less arrogance - particularly when talking about Andy Murray!

(4)
(2)

I agree that Roger is unlikely to return to No. 1 but not sure about the Andy Murray comment. Andy is better than everyone below him in the rankings but he is not in the same class as Rod, Rafa & Nolie.

Fantastic win for Andy today in Japan - demolished Nadal in final set (6-0). Now on to Shanghai Masters hoping to close in on world no. 3 spot.

Agree completely - I thought he played some of the most controlled tennis I have seen him play - at his level, 95% of it is 'in the head'.

When Andy Murray wins his first major (and it's "when" not "if"), I wonder how many of his critics will eat their words! Britain has its first genuine world class tennis player since Fred Perry and some sad people still have a go at him - what do they want?? They may reconsider their views a number of years after he has retired and Britain has no player in the top 10 (or even the top 50). Get off his back and support him!!

He'll never win a major. He's not mentally strong at all and he's miles and miles of Nadal, Djokovic and even Federer.

What does 'miles and miles of Nadal....' mean? Suggest you check your spelling prior to clicking the send icon....there is very little between the top 4 in the world so to say he will never win a major is drivel....whic would have predicted the season Djokovic had this year? Last year he could hardly serve!

Martin I'm sure your feeling rather red in the face now after Murray's incredibly impressive victory over Nadal in the Japan Masters.

Went to see Murray and the GB team play at the Braehead arena. Murray didnt play particularly well, wastaken to a tiebreak by someone around 500 in the world.

Probably was knackered....cf. Nadal and Djokovic....same issue? Is it not good enough that he did enough to win?

Some of the best, hard hitting tennis I've seen in along while.

Still think Djoko's got the edge but Nadal's on a mission at the mo...

Very, very happy to see this site! Murray playing well but just not good enough as usual. {Ed009's Note - Murray's hard court game is just as good as Nadal's with regards to shot hitting, but there are two simple things he needs to correct in order to beat the best. His errors and his mentality. The correction of the latter will solve the former too. Look to Djokovic. One year ago Murray was by far the superior player and Djoko couldn't buy a win against the top three for love nor money. His supreme confidence has changed all that. A sports therapist could be the answer for Murray in my opinion.}

You make it sound so easy ed, but it's not. Murray is not as good as Nadal and never will be. For that im thankful I hope he never wins a grandslam.

(1)
(3)

Murray is good enough to beat, but just gets his tactics wrong when he plays big like the Nadal one. In the third set he got his tactics spot on, but was unable to keep it up to win it. A major will come eventually.

Djoko seems to have improved since he used that oxygen booth thingy?
